Recall for iPhone
Terms of Service.
These Terms explain the rules for using Recall, an audio recording, transcription, note-taking, export, and AI-assisted memory app created by BoxTheoryLabs.com.
1. Agreement to these Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Recall, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms apply to Recall and related websites, support, and services provided by BoxTheoryLabs.com.
2. Who we are
Recall is operated by BoxTheoryLabs.com. You can contact us at hello@BoxTheoryLabs.com.
3. What Recall does
Recall helps users record audio, import audio, generate transcripts, create summaries, organize notes, search memories, and export content. Some features may rely on device capabilities, Apple services, or third-party service providers.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the audio, transcripts, notes, summaries, files, and other content you create or import into Recall. You give us permission to process that content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Recall, including transcription, summarization, sync, export, and support features.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the content you record, import, transcribe, summarize, export, or share using Recall. You agree not to use Recall to break the law, violate privacy rights, infringe intellectual property rights, harass others, capture recordings without required consent, or misuse the app or its services.
Recording laws vary by location. You are responsible for understanding and following any consent or notice requirements that apply before recording conversations, meetings, calls, lectures, interviews, or other audio.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Subscription Terms. Recall may offer paid subscriptions, including monthly or annual plans, that unlock premium features such as longer recordings, transcription, summaries, export tools, sync, advanced search, or other features described in the app at the time of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Apple billing: Purchases made in the iOS app are charged to your Apple ID through the App Store. Apple manages payment processing, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests for App Store purchases.
- Pricing: Current prices and subscription periods are shown in the app before purchase. Prices may vary by country, currency, taxes, promotions, and Apple App Store settings.
- Renewal charges: Your Apple ID account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.
- Free trials or promotions: If a free trial or promotional offer is provided, it will convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial or promotional period ends, according to the terms shown at purchase.
- Refunds: Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. BoxTheoryLabs cannot guarantee refunds for purchases processed by Apple.
7. Changes to features and pricing
We may add, remove, modify, limit, or discontinue features over time. We may also change pricing, plan names, usage limits, or subscription options. Any pricing changes for active App Store subscriptions will be handled according to Apple’s rules and notices.
8. AI, transcription, and accuracy
Recall may use AI and transcription technology to generate text, summaries, titles, highlights, action items, or answers. These outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misunderstood. You should review important output before relying on it, especially for legal, medical, financial, academic, employment, or other high-impact purposes.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information. Please review it at privacy.html. By using Recall, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
10. Third-party services
Recall may rely on Apple services, cloud storage, transcription providers, AI providers, analytics, diagnostics, or other third-party services. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Intellectual property
Recall, including its design, software, branding, website, interface, text, graphics, icons, and other materials, is owned by BoxTheoryLabs.com or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or exploit Recall except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
12. App Store terms
If you download Recall from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s terms also apply. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Recall. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them as related to your use of Recall on Apple platforms.
13. Disclaimers
Recall is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, perfectly accurate, or available at all times. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, BoxTheoryLabs.com will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost recordings, lost transcripts, business interruption, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability for any claim related to Recall will not exceed the amount you paid to use Recall during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Recall if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, create risk for other users or us, or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using Recall at any time. Some sections of these Terms will continue to apply after termination, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and payment obligations already incurred.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Recall evolves. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Recall after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
